Mindful Self-Compassion Workshop and Half-Day Retreat for the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community
The Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) course tailored for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community offers a transformative journey towards embracing oneself with kindness and understanding. Recognizing the societal pressures and internalized beliefs faced by queer individuals, the program aims to counteract feelings of shame, perfectionism, and self-judgment often ingrained from a young age. Through an empirically-supported, 8-week training, participants learn mindfulness and compassion skills to cultivate self-kindness, acknowledge their shared humanity, and develop mindful awareness. Research indicates that practicing self-compassion leads to improved emotional well-being, reduced anxiety and depression, healthier self-care habits, and more fulfilling relationships. The course provides a safe and supportive space for individuals to reconnect with themselves, their bodies, and the present moment. The program consists of 8 weekly sessions, each lasting 2.5 hours, along with a 4-hour retreat. Sessions will be hosted online over Zoom.
