Janice Cormier (MA) is an educator specializing in experiential learning, somatic learning, and Mindfulness & Compassion cultivation practices. She is a Trained Teacher of Mindful Self Compassion from the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, and a trained Yoga & Meditation Teacher with a focus on trauma-informed practice. Pursuing her interest in mind/body health, Janice completed academic studies in Health Sciences, Psychology, and Educational Studies. She went on to pursue additional professional development courses at Stanford University in Compassion Cultivation, the Psychology of Compassion, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
Janice has been involved in contemplative practices for over 15 years. She has several years of experience as a facilitator, working in various community organizations. She enjoys sharing evidence-based practices that help people build self-awareness and develop resilience and wellbeing. As a facilitator, Janice isknown to be warm, fun and creative. Janice also has a passion for the arts, and is a professional ceramic artist and sculptor. Combining her interests, she continues to explore ways to teach compassion cultivation through arts-based practices.
